Help with troubleshooting the OpenVPN client.
Always make sure you are using the current configuration file.
Problem: After installing the OpenVPN application (openvpn-install-2.4.6-I601.exe), there is a problem with the installation of the driver (tap-windows-9.22.1-I601.exe), which is part of the application installer.
The OpenVPN client works but cannot establish a VPN connection.
Solution:
- Manually uninstall the TAP-Windows driver (NDIS 6) tap-windows-9.22.1-I601.exe:
Control panel> Uninstall a program> TAP Windows 9.22.1> Uninstall
- Manually install the TAP-Windows driver (NDIS 5) tap-windows-9.9.2_3.exe
